New features

Backup and Restore CLI tool:
The new Backup and Restore CLI Tool is a significant enhancement for on-premise DocFusion customers, providing comprehensive backup and restore functionalities. This tool ensures that your critical data is securely backed up and can be efficiently restored, supporting a variety of scenarios from routine backups to disaster recovery.

  • Azure/S3 storage support: The tool supports storing backups in Azure or S3, providing flexibility and reliability in choosing your preferred storage solution.
  • Backup/restore of control data: Ensures that all control data is accurately backed up and can be restored when needed, maintaining the integrity of your document generation processes.
  • Selective BU (Business Unit) backup/restore: Allows you to back up or restore data for one or more specific business units, offering granular control over your data management.
  • Environment migration: Facilitates the migration of entire environments, making it easier to manage changes and upgrades across your enterprise.
  • Failover/recovery scenarios: Supports robust failover and recovery scenarios, ensuring business continuity and minimising downtime in the event of system failures.

Enhancements

  1. Enhanced Error Code 30 behaviour: We implemented a sliding window calculation for time limit exceeded calculations. See Error Code 30.
  2. DocFusion database enhancements: We made improvements to the way DocFusion stores and manages Tenant/Business Unit data. This change allows for more effective use of DBs on Cloud Infrastructure to lower costs and simplify disaster recovery.
  3. Support for generation jobs isolation: We have implemented “EnvironmentInstance” to Elastic Generator configs to allow isolation of generation requests, to prevent multiple clusters of generators from picking up the same jobs.
  4. Allow enabling and disabling tenants: Tenants now have an enabled and disabled state. When a tenant is disabled, you will not be able to use any services.
  5. Added new API for GetSnapshotCRCSlim: We added a new lightweight API to get repository snapshot CRC.
  6. DataBroker Service upgraded to .NET 8: DataBrokerService and DataBrokerManagerService Application Services were replaced with .NET 8 based services.

Fixes

  1. Error on Workbench when moving paths: We resolved an issue where initiating a sync operation immediately after relocating a path in the Workbench would result in an error.
  2. Culture could not be modified: We resolved an issue where the default system culture was read-only and prevented custom formatting from being applied.
  3. Critical circular reference issue on UpdatePath: We resolved an issue where calling the UpdatePath API method to create circular references would result in an error when calculating the environment snapshot.
  4. Incorrect batch statuses: We resolved an issue where batch statuses would be incorrectly updated under certain edge cases.
  5. Tags updating: We resolved an issue where updating tags did not trigger Snapshot change.
